The Mid-Hudson Walk for Celiac disease May 10, 2014

The Third Annual Mid-Hudson Walk for Celiac Disease if scheduled for this Saturday May 10, 2014.  May is Celiac Awareness month. This event is perfect to show support and awareness of the autoimmune disease that affects so many people.

Information for the Mid-Hudson Walk for Celiac Disease May 10, 2014:

Place:  Walkway Over the Hudson, Highland Side

Time:  9:00 am registration, 10:00 AM Start
Fee: $20.00 to pre-register, $25.00 to register at the Event, it includes a T-shirt, goody bag and water while supplies last.

Directions:  On the West side of the River (Highland): Take NY 218/Route 9W to Haviland Road.

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.  They will provide gluten-free food to the needy in their community.  Also, funds will help research programs of the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University.

Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable gluten-free items to benefit the food bank.  The event is followed by a Gluten-free fair with music. There will be several gluten-free vendors and several activities to enhance the event. There will be raffles and prizes as well.

The walk will begin at 10:00am from the Highland side to the Poughkeepsie side and back and it is brought to you by the people at Digestive Disease Center of the Hudson Valley.

Motorized scooters and wheelchairs are allowed on the walkway for the handicapped only.
